Cardiff Devils were crowned Elite League champions for the first time after a 6 - 2 victory over Sheffield Steelers last night.

The Devils, whose last league title was 20 years ago, started well when Mark Richardson put them ahead after 26 seconds.

Asselin, Martin, Bentivoglio, Lord and Bordeleau added to the Cardiff side's score, ensuring the Devils added the league title to their recent Challenge Cup success.
