Boy aged 12 'critical' following road traffic collision

A child remains in a critical condition in hospital following a road traffic collision in Trefriw, Conwy County on Wednesday afternoon.

North Wales Police received a report of a collision on Crafnant Road involving a boy on a bicycle and a Ford Transit minibus at around 4.20PM.

Emergency services attended the scene and the road was closed.

The 12-year-old cyclist was airlifted to Alder Hey Hospital in Liverpool with serious injuries and his condition is currently described as critical.

Sergeant Nicola Grimes-Williams from the Roads Policing Unit said: “We are appealing for witnesses and are asking anybody with information to contact us.”
