Senior Labour AM Eluned Morgan says there must be positives from Brexit but says there could be "an extremely bumpy road" in getting there.

According to the former MEP, one consequence of Brexit will be less public money available and says dependence on the state for economic prosperity will have to be reduced.

In a wide-ranging speech to Aberystwyth University's International Politics department the Mid and West Wales AM is set to say the public need to be more aware of "those who live or do not live in their communities" suggesting the debate around immigration needs to change.

According to a recent survey 71% in Wales thought EU migrants brought more costs than benefits. This was a significantly higher proportion that in other parts of the UK. But Eluned Morgan says this is a myth.
