A £5m campaign to promote Wales to an international audience has been launched by Visit Wales, featuring Welsh actor Luke Evans.

Following on from 2016's Year of Adventure, the Year of Legends campaign gets underway with a new television and cinema advert featuring Evans - star of films like The Hobbit and the up-coming Beauty and the Beast.

Filmed at Llyn Llydaw in Snowdonia, the advert is an introduction to Welsh stories and characters - some world-famous, others lesser-known. Branwen; Rhiannon; Blodeuwedd; Owain Glyndŵr; Llywelyn; Merlin; Llyn y Fan are mentioned by Evans.
