Former special constable returns to where it all began as Chief Constable of Dyfed Powys

A former special constable has been appointed as Dyfed-Powys Police's new chief.

Mark Collins started his career as a special in Carmarthen in 1987 and he went on to become a PC with the Met Police in 1991. He returned to Dyfed-Powys Police in 1995 working in Cardigan and has since held every rank in both uniform policing and CID up to Superintendent.

During his career he's led the Wales Extremism and Counter Terrorism Unit and has recently been both Assistant Chief Constable and Deputy Chief Constable for Bedfordshire Police.
