Rare sea turtle found stranded on Welsh beach makes speedy recovery
A rare sea turtle found washed up on a chilly Welsh beach is said to be making a good recovery.
'Menai', an Olive Ridley sea turtle, was found stranded on Tan-y-Foel beach earlier this month.
Usually found swimming in the warm waters of the Pacific and Indian Oceans, Menai was severely hypothermic and was thought to have made a journey of around 15,000 miles.
But staff at Anglesey Sea Zoo say she's made good progress in a specialised recovery tank, and is now starting to feed and show regular signs of activity.
The zoo is now carrying out research to try to establish where Menai originated from in the hopes of one day releasing her back into the wild.
