Welsh politicians respond to Trump victory
Welsh politicians have expressed mixed feelings towards the news that Donald Trump has been elected as the 45th President of the United States.
It was announced this morning, after the Republican candidate won a number of crucial swing states in the contest with Democratic rival Hillary Clinton.
The leader of the Welsh Conservatives Andrew RT Davies via twitter called the result 'another bloody nose for the political establishment.'
Adding the result was another 'punch for political polling', after they incorrectly predicted a Clinton win.
Meanwhile Leanne Wood responded to the result, saying now was the time for 'calm heads and winding down the rhetoric we have witnessed during the election.'
Adding that if Trump wanted to do business with the rest of the world, 'he must row back on the appalling comments we saw throughout the campaign.'
