£800,000 investment to improve maths in Wales
The Education Secretary, Kirsty Williams AM, has announced an £800,000 investment into maths teaching.
The money will be used to set up a network where teachers can share best practise.
According to the OECD, Wales is behind other parts of the UK when it comes to the maths performance of 15 year olds, although this year saw an improvement in maths A-Level results.
The Association of School and College Leaders (ASCL) has told ITV News that they welcome the initiative, although they have concerns about whether there are enough high-quality maths teachers to deliver it:
