Swansea City have appointed American Chris Pearlman as its first Chief Operating Officer (COO).

The New Yorker is the latest American to join the club,following the takeover by Steve Kaplan and Jason Levien and the appointment of manager Bob Bradley.

Pearlman will oversea the day-to-day commercial operations of the club, including stadium and corporate sponsorships, marketing, merchandise, ticketing, media and public relations.

He will report directly to chairman Huw Jenkins and the Board of Directors, while also working closely with vice chairman Leigh Dineen.

The father of two will take up the post boasting an impressive reputation Stateside as a leader within the sports industry.

He has spent the last 10 years at Van Wagner Sports and Entertainment, where he oversaw their media and properties division as well as the company’s global sales efforts, which included creating relationships with the National Football League (NFL) and the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
