Experts warn food waste costs average Welsh family £700 a year

Events are going on today to mark World Food Day, with experts demonstrating how to avoid waste and save money.

It's estimated that we throw away £610 million of food in Wales every year - enough to fill the Principality Stadium.

To coincide with World Food Day a number of 'Food for Thought' events have been taking place across Wales. The aim is to raise awareness of the issue of food waste, impart tips on what people can do at home and demonstrate just what can be achieved with surplus food.
