Wales international Aaron Ramsey could return for next month's crucial 2018 World Cup qualifier against Serbia following an injury lay-off.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger revealed the midfielder is undergoing “a complete pre-season” to regain full fitness.

Wenger had hoped the former Cardiff City player would return from a hamstring injury in time for the Gunners' clash with Swansea City this weekend.

Ramsey has been out of action since the first match of the season and missed Wales’ recent qualifying games.

The match against Serbia on 12th November takes on extra importance for Chris Coleman's side after picking up only two points against Austria and Georgia.

Speaking ahead of Swansea City's visit to the Emirates Stadium, Wenger said they decided to put Ramsey through a full pre-season schedule to "rebuild his fitness."
