He's back! Sir Tom Jones returns to The Voice

It's been confirmed Sir Tom Jones will return to The Voice when the show makes its debut on ITV.

Sir Tom previously slammed the BBC for firing him from the line-up in 2015.

After a five series run on BBC One, the show moved channels when ITV acquired the rights to it last year.

Long-running coach Will.I.Am, who will complete the line-up admitted he had missed his Welsh co-star, and welcomed his move to ITV for the series, which is due to air next year.

He told the Press Association, "It's the freaking best. I've missed him a lot."

The 76-year-old singer was a coach on the show for the first four series, winning the first in 2012 with his act Leanne Mitchell.

He left before the fifth series in 2016 and has criticised the BBC as having "sub-standard behaviour" for axing him from the show with just a 24-hour warning.

Upon his return he will have American singer and actress Jennifer Hudson and British rockstar Gavin Rossdale by his side.

Hudson rose to prominence on American Idol in 2004.

She finished in seventh place, but went on to have a glittering career, picking up awards for her performance in the musical 'Dreamgirls', and a Grammy for her debut album.

Gavin Rossdale is known for being a member of 90s rock group Bush, whose debut album Sixteen Stone is certified six times multi-platinum.

He is also known for his high-profile marriage and subsequent split earlier this year from No Doubt star Gwen Stefani, and for being the father of model and Strictly Come Dancing star Daisy Lowe.

The only remaining judge on the panel Will.I.Am said he thought the show would be "louder" on ITV and that he was looking forward to the move to the channel.

Emma Willis will return as presenter.

The winner of The Voice will take home a recording contract with music giants Polydor Records, home to acts including Take That, Ellie Goulding and The 1975.

The Voice UK will air on ITV early next year.
