Welsh young people among least confident in UK

Young people in Wales are among the least confident in the UK with 96% of Welsh 11 to 18-year-olds claiming that they lack confidence and doubt they will succeed in life.

According to a survey by Barnardo's, 4 out of 10 young people in Wales feel that they have no one who believes in them.

The survey also found that a third of parents fail to tell their children regularly that they believe in them, even though almost two thirds of them have high expectations for their children.

Barnardo's Cymru works with over 8,000 young people and their families in communities across Wales.

The charity is marking its 150th anniversary in 2016.
