Anglesea complainant: He is evil
A man who claims he was abused as a child by retired police officer Gordon Anglesea pointed at him in the dock this afternoon and said he was evil.
Mr Anglesea denies four charges - 3 of indecent assault and one serious sexual assault against two teenage boys in the 1980s.
The complainant claimed Mr. Anglesea wrecked his life by abusing him as a child in the showers at an attendance centre in Wrexham.
The complainant denied that he had got the defendant mixed up with another police officer who had previously been jailed.
The man, now in his 40s, agreed that he was psychiatrically ill when he made the complaint – and said he had been so ever since he had been abused.
It was not a case of wanting compensation, he said.
Questioned about his own criminal record, the complainant said he never kept a list of all the crimes he committed.
But he said of Anglesea: "He has wrecked my life. I mean wrecked my life. I don't even know why you're supporting him."
The complainant said he not been in trouble now for 15 years. “You are talking about my past. I want to look to my future," he said.
Tania Griffiths QC, defending, said he still had a significant drink and drug habit.
He replied: "Do you blame me?"
“Do you think I really want to be here? I am not here for myself. I am here for other people. I am here to look him in the eye, evil”, he said, and he pointed at Mr. Anglesea.
Miss Griffiths suggested that his memory was so damaged that “you cannot remember what went on” at the attendance centre.
The case continues.
