Donors call on people to give blood ahead of Welsh Blood Service anniversary
Two regular donors are calling on more people to give blood and platelets ahead of the 70th anniversary of the Welsh Blood Service.
It comes as the service is specifically asking for donations for blood types B Negative and O Negative.
Every minute four units of blood are issued at hospitals across the UK to help patients.
Malcolm Williams from Pontypool has been giving blood since the 1960s.
He holds the record in Wales for giving the most donations, having given blood over 100 times.
The 75-year-old says he feels like he's making a difference.
Like Malcolm, platelet donor James Rudolf is also encouraging more people to give.
James didn't realise how important donating platelets was until his five-year-old son Oscar was diagnosed with cancer.
