Roald Dahl's books brought to life in Cardiff city centre
Some of Roald Dahl's most imaginative pieces of work have been brought to life with a special event in Cardiff city centre.
The 'City Of The Unexpected' festival is being held across the capital with many of the characters from his books taking over.
A giant peach has been making its way through the centre thanks to the help of the emergency services and a large crane.
Thousands of people have turned out to see all the strange sculptures on show.
The festival is a joint production by Wales Millennium Centre and National Theatre Wales, and is directed by Nigel Jamieson who has previously worked on the opening ceremonies of the Sydney Olympics and the Commonwealth Games in Manchester.
The author's books have also been hung in the streets of Cardiff.
This year marks 100 years since Roald Dahl was born.
