"Expect the unexpected" at Cardiff Roald Dahl festival
A weekend of celebrations is taking place in Cardiff this weekend, to celebrate 100 years since the birth of one of the nation's favourite authors - Roald Dahl.
The city centre is hosting a festival inspired by his imagination, and organisers are promising that reality will be "turned on its head".
Exact details of what's in store are a closely guarded secret, but organisers have revealed there will be a giant Pyjama Party in Bute Park on Sunday.
Those attending are asked to come in their pyjamas and bring a picnic inspired by Roald Dahl's stories and characters.
The festival is a joint production by Wales Millennium Centre and National Theatre Wales, and is directed by Nigel Jamieson who has previously worked on the opening ceremonies of the Sydney Olympics and the Commonwealth Games in Manchester.
There will be road closures in place to make way for the festival, full details of which can be viewed here.
You can also find out more information on the City Unexpected website.
The fun starts at 1pm on Saturday and all outdoor performances are free to attend.
