More than 200 people gather at Battle of the Somme overnight vigil
An overnight vigil is taking place this evening to remember the centenary of the battle of the Somme.
More than 200 people turned up at Llandaff Cathedral to pay their respects to the troops of World War 1.
The battle lasted more than four months with thousands of welsh men being injured and killed.
The vigil will end at Cathays Park at sunrise with gun fire and whistle blowing to signify the moment soldiers went over the top.
