Celebrity adventurer Bear Grylls attends north Wales Scout event

Hundreds of young Scouts came to see Bear Grylls at the event.

Celebrity adventurer Bear Grylls has joined forces with Welsh Scouts to encourage more adults to volunteer with the organisation.

Recent figures show that membership has reached the 574,000 mark in the UK, but the movement is in need of more adult volunteers to ensure that growing numbers of young people can continue to join in. The total number of young people on waiting lists to join Scouting currently stands at over 40,000.

Bear attended the camp at the Denbigh and Flint Showground to highlight the benefits of Scouting to communities and encourage more adults to volunteer for Scouting in the future.
