Police name woman in Ystrad Mynach death investigation

Police have named a 75-year-old woman found dead at a house in Ystrad Mynach earlier this week as Iris Owens.

Gwent Police says at around 5.45pm on Tuesday 3rd May Gwent Police responded to a call for assistance from the South Wales Ambulance Service, to an address in Nelson Road, Ystrad Mynach, near to Ystrad Mynach Train Station.

On arrival, officers discovered the body of a woman, who can now be named as 75-year-old Iris Owens from the Ystrad Mynach area.

The 47 year old man who was[arrested on Tuesday](http://Man arrested in murder probe after woman) has now been charged with murder.

Officers are appealing to local residents and commuters for information:
