ITV Cymru Wales will publish the final poll of the Welsh Assembly Election 2016 campaign on Wednesday this week (May 4). The results will be revealed on Wales At Six and on the ITV News Wales website.

It will be the third YouGov poll of the campaign to be commissioned by ITV Wales in conjunction with Cardiff University.

And for the first time in any Assembly Election, a poll of how people who have actually voted will be carried out on polling day on Thursday (May 5). The findings will be announced exclusively at the start of ITV’s Wales Decides 2016 seven-and-a-half-hour overnight results programme at 10.30pm.

Leading elections expert Professor Roger Scully of Cardiff University will be in the studio to calculate what the poll could mean in terms of seats in the Senedd.

Adrian Masters, ITV’s political editor in Wales, will anchor the programme. It will feature analysis by a panel of experts as the results come in from ITV reporters live from counts across Wales.

Political reporter Owain Phillips will join Roger Scully to analyse the results, while Catrin Haf Jones will be gauging the reaction of MPs and other leading politicians. The programme will also be streamed online.

At 6am on the morning of Friday 6th May, ITV Wales will be joining Good Morning Britain with the latest results news for audiences across the UK. Then, at 9.30am there will be an hour-long Wales Decides 2016 programme, presented by Andrea Byrne, looking at the shape of Wales under the new Assembly.

Over the past weeks, ITV Wales’ comprehensive coverage of the Assembly Election has included the live, two-hour, prime time ITV Welsh Leaders’ Debate and Adrian’s Election Bites, in which Adrian Masters interviewed the leaders of the main parties over self-cooked suppers.
