Snakes alive! Three-foot reptile falls on workman's head in empty flat

A workman had a shocking encounter while checking over an empty flat - a three-foot snake fell on his head when he opened the attic.

RSPCA Cymru is appealing for information to try and find out the owner of the king snake, which was found in Ebbw Vale.

The reptile, believed to be an escaped pet, fell from an attic opening as a member of staff from Tai Calon Community Housing moved a bag.

Celfyn Chappell says it gave him a bit of a shock:

The snake was given a drink of water and placed into a container until the RSPCA arrived.

According to the neighbours, the previous tenants had a snake - but it went missing in the summer.

The animal charity is appealing for information to try and track down the owners as an old telephone number isn't working.

Anyone with information is asked to call 0300 123 8018.
