Welsh actor Michael Sheen has spoken exclusively to ITV about his campaign against the standards of temporary accommodation for young people.

The Hollywood star has been campaigning for months calling for no 16 or 17 year olds to be housed in emergency bed and breakfast accommodation while they are homeless.

It comes as the poll, conducted for ITV's 'Tonight' programme, found that youth homelessness is on the rise.

The poll also surveyed organisations that work with young homeless people.

When asked about changes to housing benefit entitlements, all of the organisations questioned said they were concerned about the impact of the changes.

Michael Sheen has been campaigning about the conditions of temporary accommodation for many months and had recently handed in a petition to the Welsh Government calling on it to put an end to placing homeless teenagers into bed and breakfast accommodation.

The Welsh Government has subsequently made changes to legislation to find alternative accommodation for young people.

Tonight: 'Generation Homeless' will be broadcast at 7:30pm on Thursday on ITV
