Heartbroken pet owner leaves tennis balls on beach in memorial to her beloved dog
A heartbroken dog-lover has left a touching gift in memory of her beloved border collie - a box of tennis balls for other pets to play with at her favourite beach.
Alison Lenihan, 48, left a picture of pet Meg alongside a note saying:
Animal-lover Alison told how she spent "14 happy years" with Meg on their daily walks.
And she told how Meg loved "sharing good times" playing with a tennis ball on Port Eynon bay at Gower, near Swansea.
Alison left a box of a dozen new tennis balls in Port Eynon with the message 'Please Enjoy! Free' to mark a year to the day since Meg died, aged 14.
In a note attached to the free balls and the picture of Meg, Alison wrote:
Actress and singer Alison, of Gorseinon, Swansea, said: "It seemed the right thing to do - I hope people enjoy the beach and the tennis balls as much as we did."
