Swansea school closed after two pupils arrested

A school in Swansea is closed today after two pupils were arrested following a child protection issue.

Bishop Vaughan School in Morriston posted a statement on its website yesterday saying it was working with South Wales Police on a 'sensitive safeguarding issue' involving two pupils at the school. Headteacher Paul White said two pupils had been arrested and wanted to assure parents the situation had been resolved.

The school said precautionary measures were put in place following the 'confidential child protection issue' and a decision was made to close the school today.

A South Wales Police spokesman confirmed two pupils had been arrested.
