Welsh 'most holiday-starved' in UK

Wales has been identified as the 'most holiday starved' region in the UK by online travel agency www.sunshine.co.uk.

Approximately three thousand people from 12 UK regions took part in the survey. Respondents were asked if they had been on holiday abroad in the last three years, with 31% claiming they hadn't.

Out of those who had not to have been on a holiday abroad in the last three years, 33% were from Wales. This compares with 25% from London, 16% from Yorkshire and Humberside, and 13% from the North West.

Over half of relevant respondents said that they felt 'worn out' from not going on holiday in recent years, whilst 29% felt 'fed up'.

The majority blamed busy lifestyle and work commitments for them not taking a holiday whilst 32% blamed cited financial restrictions.
