Scarlets scrum-half Davies gets debut call-up in otherwise experienced Wales squad
Warren Gatland has announced his squad for this year's Six Nations tournament, naming one uncapped player in an otherwise experienced side.
Scarlets scrum-half Aled Davies gets his debut call-up, alongside re-calls for Cardiff Blues duo Tom James and Josh Turnbull. Turnbull last played for Wales in 2014 and James in 2010, although James was part of Wales' 2015 Rugby World Cup training squad before withdrawing through injury.
The 37-strong squad features 31 players who were part of the World Cup campaign and Sam Warburton will once again captain the side.
Watch Nick Hartley's report:
Gethin Jenkins, Paul James and Rob Evans, line up alongside Samson Lee, Tomas Francis and Aaron Jarvis in the front row. Scott Baldwin, Ken Owens and Kristian Dacey are named as hookers, while Alun Wyn Jones Luke Charteris, Dominic Day, Bradley Davies, Jake Ball and Josh Turnbull also make the squad.
Captain Warburton, Dan Lydiate, Justin Tipuric and Taulupe Faletau are joined by James King and Ross Moriarty in the back-row. Uncapped Davies is named alongside regional team-mate Gareth Davies and Lloyd Williams at scrum-half, Dan Biggar and Rhys Priestland are included as fly-halves.
Jonathan Davies - who missed last year's Rugby World Cup through injury - returns at centre with Jamie Roberts, Cory Allen and Tyler Morgan and the back three pool is made up of Tom James, Hallam Amos, George North, Alex Cuthbert, Gareth Anscombe, Matthew Morgan and Liam Williams.
Wales start their campaign against reigning champions Ireland on February 7th.
