1 in 3 people in Wales have only seen Mount Snowdon 'on a screen'
When it comes to scenery, here in Wales we're spoiled for choice. But a new survey reveals we may not be making the most of what's on our doorstep.
According to the National Trust, 1 in 3 people in Wales have only ever seen Snowdon or Pen Y Fan on a screen, and never in real life.
People in Wales were also found to spend nine times more online than participating in outdoor activities.
The research, conducted on 1,000 people across Wales, also found:
The average person in Wales has not been in the Welsh sea for more than four and a half years.
A quarter of those asked have never been to Rhossili in Gower, despite it currently ranking as the UK's third best beach.
And while nearly half of those questioned have visited the Eiffel Tower or Big Ben, only one in three have been to the very top of the nation's most famous peak in Snowdonia.
Yet 82 per cent of people in Wales wish they had more time to visit our local attractions or plan more short breaks.
And 47 per cent questioned think that lying on a Welsh beach is more relaxing than browsing social media.
