Prince Charles went back to the classroom today during a visit to Pen y Dre High School in Merthyr Tydfil.

He was there to see how successful the Teach First programme is which has been running in Wales for two years now.

The charity aims to ensure that a child's educational success is not limited by their background.

70 per cent of pupils at Pen y Dre High School are from deprived communities.

Teach First has been working with the school for almost 3 years now and they've seen results in Maths and English improve by 24% in that time.

With Welsh Government funding, the scheme has been extended to reach 38 schools in Wales, with 150 trainees being recruited.

During his visit, His Royal Highness also enjoyed an unexpected performance from Elvis.
