World Champion's bikes stolen
World Champion downhill mountain bike racer Manon Carpenter has been left without a pedal to turn after having all 8 of her bikes and two motorcycles stolen from her home in Caerphilly.
Carpenter, who lifted the world title in 2014, has launched a nationwide appeal to try and locate the equipment which has been described as ‘unique’ and of high value.
The list of items taken includes the Saracen Myst she rode during the 2015 downhill world championships as well as other bikes used for training and racing.
“Obviously a lot of these bikes are my training and race bikes, with the downhill bikes having important parts specific to myself” she said.
“I was gutted to hear the news this morning but now I am busy trying to share as much information as possible.
‘The quicker we can find out any details the more chance we have of getting them back, so please if you hear or see anything do let us know!
