Burglar jailed after removing carrier bag disguise in front of CCTV camera

A burglar has been jailed after he lifted his carrier bag disguise, only to look directly into a CCTV camera.

Christopher Badman, 37, from Brackla in Bridgend has been sent to prison for 16 months for the burglary of The Marine Hotel in Porthcawl last on 27 September during The Elvis Festival.

He had entered the hotel at around 2am wearing a carrier bag on his head. He was captured on CCTV walking through the hotel's corridors but was then disturbed by a guest who woke to find him trying to steal his laptop after he broke into his room.

Christopher Badman made off from the scene but was arrested days after the incident at his partner's house after police were able to identify him on the CCTV footage.

Christopher Badman was also ordered to pay £900 court costs and a £100 surcharge at court.
