The top ten 'busiest' speed cameras in Wales have been revealed by road safety partnership GoSafe.

The most prolific camera is situated on the junction of Newport Road and Colchester Avenue in Cardiff, which has a speed limit of 30 miles per hour.

It recorded more than 12,000 drivers exceeding the limit between April 2014 and March 2015 - an average of more than 30 a day.

All but one of the top ten cameras are in South Wales.

The list below shows the location of the busiest permanent speed cameras, along with the speed limit and the number of offences recorded in a year:

GoSafe is made up partners including Wales' local authorities, all four police forces and the Welsh Government.

It says it complies with Welsh Government guidance on where cameras can be placed, adding: "Cameras are there to encourage motorists to drive within the speed limit so the most successful cameras are those which record the least number of offences - not the most."
