Appeal for men who 'assaulted' and 'licked ear' of off-duty policeman on train
Police are appealing for information after an off-duty policeman was assaulted while on a Valleys line train.
Officers have released cctv images of the men they would like to speak to after the 26 year-old officer was assaulted on a train between Aber and Llanbradach.
The incident happened on Saturday, 22nd August, on the 2235 Cardiff Central to Rhymney service when the officer was travelling home from work.
British Transport Police says after the train left Aber station, a man, who was part of a larger group, approached the victim and licked his ear.
When the officer tried to arrest one of the men, he was obstructed by another member of the group and was punched to the jaw.
The men then ran off.
