Man charged with baby son's murder is granted bail
A father charged with the murder of his two-month old baby son has been bailed.
Defendant Sean Michael Mullender, 22, of Bryn Lane, Connah’s Quay, appeared at Mold Crown Court for a preliminary hearing.
The defendant is charged with murdering his son, Daniel John Mullender, in October 2014.
Sean Mullender spoke only to confirm his name.
Mr Justice Wyn Williams, via a live television link from Cardiff Crown Court, granted bail on the following conditions:
He lives at a bail address in Morpeth in Northumbria
He is not to enter North Wales, apart from attending court or attending appointments with his lawyers.
He is not to have any unsupervised contact with any child under the age of 16 and he is not to contact any prosecution witnesses
He surrender his passport
He reports to a police station three times a week
On Wednesday North Wales Police released a statement to say that on in October 2014, they were contacted by health officials concerning a two-month-old baby boy who was admitted to the Countess of Chester Hospital from his home in Connah's Quay.
The child was transferred for further treatment to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool where he later died.
