Wales welcomes Festival No.6 for fourth year

Thousands of visitors are expected to descend upon north Wales this weekend for one of the last events in the UK's festival season - Festival No.6.

Set in the village of Portmeirion, the festival is described as a 'bespoke banquet of music, arts and culture'.

Now in its fourth year, the festival sold out a week ago.

Around 15,000 ticket holders will arrive at Portmeirion from Thursday. The village, home of cult TV series The Prisoner will play host to acts on stages across the site, including the atmospheric woods and the promenade along the River Dwyryd.

The line-up is set to be just as impressive as the surroundings, with legend Grace Jones headlining on the final night.

Actor, writer and comedian Steve Coogan is also set to take the stage on Saturday afternoon.

Wales' First Minister Carwyn Jones was due to visit the site on Wednesday as part of a series of visits to north Wales, but the visit was cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.
