Joe Allen and Adam Mathews are the major injury absentees from Chris Coleman’s squad for the upcoming Euro 2016 qualifiers against Cyprus and Israel.

Allen, who was already suspended for Cyprus, has failed in his race to be fit in time for the crucial home clash against Israel in Cardiff on September 6th.

Mathews limped out of his debut for Sunderland last night during their League Cup win against Exeter.

Gareth Bale has given Chris Coleman a big boost though after undergoing a precautionary scan on a toe injury sustained whilst playing for club side Real Madrid and is named in the 23 man party.

James Collins and Ben Davies return to the squad having missed the last camp through injury.

Wins in both games could be enough for Wales to seal qualification for a first major tournament finals since the 1958 World Cup.

They currently sit top of group B, three points clear of second placed Belgium with the top teams qualifying automatically for next years’ finals in France.
