Cardiff to host ODI series finals
Cardiff will host the final games in England's 2016 ODI series' against Pakistan and Sri Lanka the ECB have confirmed.
England will meet Sri Lanka in the 5th Royal London ODI at the Swalec Stadium on Saturday 2nd July before returning to Wales to meet Pakistan in the 5th ODI of that series on September 4th.
The announcement comes just weeks after the Welsh capital successfully hosted the first Ashes Test between England and Australia in front of a sell-out crowd for the second time since it was first awarded the high profile fixture in 2009.
Since then Cardiff has also featured as a host venue for the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy.
“Both of our 2015 internationals were complete sell-outs and we look forward to welcoming supporters back to Cardiff in 2016,” said Glamorgan Chief Executive Hugh Morris.
“We’re delighted to be hosting two weekend fixtures that will serve as the climax of each series.
“England are playing good cricket and will see the Ashes win as a springboard for a period of consistent performances.”
