Rugby fans are being reminded to plan ahead for the Wales' World Cup warm-up at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium this weekend.

Wales take on Ireland this Saturday, kicking off at 2:30pm for an expected crowd of 74,000.

As tens of thousands of fans flood the city centre, the Millennium Stadium and City of Cardiff Council are advising people to allow plenty of time to get into the city and to travel by public transport and coach where possible.

PARK AND RIDE SERVICES:

  • Junction 29 of the M4, at Pentwyn (White Car Park), for which the drop off point in the city will be Churchill Way.

  • Junction 33 of the M4, at Wilcox House in Cardiff Bay (Yellow Car Park), for which the drop off point will be Tresillian Way north, at the rear of the Central Train Station.

The car parks will have a staff presence from 9:00 and will open and commence the first service at 9:30.

The last bus will leave the pick-up point at 18:00 with the car park closing at 18:30.

THE FOLLOWING ROAD CLOSURES WILL BE IN PLACE BETWEEN 12:30 & 17:30:

  • North Road from its junction with Boulevard de Nantes to its junction with Kingsway.

  • Kingsway from its junction with North Road to its junction with Duke Street. Cowbridge Road East from its junction with Cathedral Road to its junction with Westgate Street.

  • Tudor Street from its junction with Clare Road to its junction with Wood Street.

  • Plantagenet Street & Beauchamp Street from their junctions with Despenser Place to their junctions with Tudor Street.

  • Duke Street.

  • Castle Street.

  • High Street.

  • Saint Mary Street.

  • Caroline Street.

  • Wood Street.

  • Central Square.

  • Westgate Street.

  • Quay Street.

  • Guildhall Place.

  • Golate.

  • Park Street.

  • Havelock Street.

  • Scott Road.
