Time to bid a fond farewell to the Royal Welsh showground...until next year at least

Well here we are, the end of another Royal Welsh Show. It definitely feels like the end of Christmas for me. I'll wake up tomorrow without the buzz of the action in the main arena and a bacon roll to keep me company ringside.

But it's been a great show. This year one of the highlights has been the Metropolitan Police mounted activity ride, and we at ITV Wales have had a fantastic view from our balcony of their display every day this week.

For the first time, we've also had the Tristar Carriage from Carmarthenshire with their four beautiful Gelderlander horses bringing that real touch of elegance to the showground. And we've had the old favourites. The Grand Parade of prize-winning livestock last night was its usual super spectacle.

The problem is, when that happens you know that the show is almost at an end and you've got to wait a whole 12 months for the next one. There's a true and unique family spirit at the Royal Welsh. I hope you've enjoyed the show as much as we have. And don't worry, we'll be coming 'home' again in 2016.
