'I'm trapped in a body. I can hardly do anything' says the Swansea mum who wants to die
"Mum is a free spirit," Jackie's daughter Tara told me. I had a strong impression of Jackie Baker before I'd even met her.
Tara was right. Jackie may be weak but she still has a sparkle in her eye. Her voice may be fading but her will is strong.
A photographer all her life, she's recently been robbed of her ability by a cruel disease.
She has motor neurone disease - a condition her mother also had - and Jackie knows it doesn't end well.
Her body will shut down and eventually kill her. She will not let that happen, she wants to choose when to die.
Physically, she can't end her own life - and legally, her family can't help. A Swiss clinic is her only option, but it costs £8,000 - money the family needs to find.
They hoped a fundraising party would help, but the police have stopped that happening. The family will have to decide what to do next.
Jackie and her daughters want to raise awareness about the disease and assisted dying. They believe the law is wrong and needs to be changed. Others disagree. Parliament needs to decide what they law should be.
