Man who swallowed goldfish won at funfair is banned from keeping animals for three years
A man who won a goldfish at an amusement stall - ate it alive and posted the video onto Facebook.
Callum Clatworthy-Robins, 22, was given a fish in a bag as a prize after successfully hitting cards with a dart at a fairground.
But a court heard that as soon as he left the funfair he took the fish out of the bag and swallowed it whole.
Clatworthy-Robins of Port Talbot posted the video of himself swallowing the helpless fish but was reported to the RSPCA.
RSPCA inspectors said that the animal would have been alive in his digestive system for "minutes". Clatworthy-Robins admitted animal cruelty and was banned from having a pet for three years.
In the short clip, played to Swansea Crown Court, Clatworthy-Robin can be seen plucking the fish out of the bag which he won at a fair in Maesteg, he then swallows it down in one before grimacing to the camera.
Clatworthy-Robins was banned from owning an animal for three years, fined £100 and told to pay costs and a surcharge of £120.
Clatworthy-Robins, who is currently homeless, told the court: "I'm very sorry I totally regret what I did, if I could go back I wouldn't do it, it was a drunken moment."
Speaking outside the court he added: "I'm not a cruel person, I don't know why I did it, I was drunk and it was a joke that went too far.
