Men who used crossbow and knife on victim found guilty of murder
Two men involved in a horrific attack on a Wrexham man who was shot with a cross-bow, knifed and then suffered terrible skull injuries when he plunged three storeys off a balcony have today been convicted of murder.
There were loud cheers and shouts of “yes” from the public gallery when the verdicts were announced.
Mr Justice Wyn Williams sitting at Mold Crown Court said he knew it was difficult and asked the public to be quiet while the remainder of the verdicts were taken.
Charlie Munkley and Lee Roberts were both convicted of murder and were told they would have to serve a minimum of 28 years before they can apply for parole.
Mrs Gwen Munkley was convicted of perverting the course of justice by helping her husband flee the scene.
She was also convicted of being concerned in the supply of cannabis – along with Roberts who was convicted on the basis of being Munkley’s minder.
Charlie Munkey and Roberts were also convicted of being concerned in the supply of a large amount of amphetamine found at Munkley’s home.
