New train services to begin across Mid Wales

The routes will include Aberystwyth to Shrewsbury.

A number of new train services will begin in Mid Wales today in reaction to demand from passengers.

The routes which include Aberystwyth to Shrewsbury and Llandovery to Swansea are funded by the Welsh Government and aim to improve transport links around the most rural parts of Wales

The Welsh Government approved the new services following a survey which found a great demand for them and the need to adjust timetables to better serve commuters.

The move follows a call from passengers for a greater demand.
It's hoped the move will boost tourism to the area.
