World record attempt in Llandudno to mark Alice in Wonderland anniversary
One of the world's strangest records is set to be made today in Llandudno as they mark the 150th anniversary of the book Alice in Wonderland - and Alice's connections with the town - with a world record serving of jam tarts.
The town has long been linked with the story of Alice in Wonderland after Alice Liddell, the girl who inspired Lewis Carroll to write his novel, spent her summer vacations in the area in her youth.
Now bakers in the town have been busy baking jam tarts - made famous in the book after featuring in the court of the King and Queen of Hearts - in preparation to break a world record.
Organisers hope to set a record for the most jam tarts lying in a row, with 2,000 in total, on tables laid out at Venue Cymru.
Youngsters invited to the event will then need to eat them as a requirement of the record - not that they'll need much incentive!
