Funeral of police officer Louise Lucas to be held in Cardiff
The funeral of a South Wales Police Officer who died after being hit by a bus in Swansea is to be held today.
Sergeant Louise Lucas, 41, was killed in a collision on the Kingsway at the end of last month. Her eight-year-old daughter Olivia was also left injured.
Louise most recently served in the Llanishen area of Cardiff where it's said she served with 'pride and enthusiasm'.
Louise's family paid tribute to her following her death saying she was "a beautiful loving wife, mum, daughter and sister, who will never be forgotten."
Sgt Lucas' death prompted immediate changes to the road along the Kingsway where there has been several accidents in recent years.
Swansea Council has said it will remove eastbound traffic from the road, leaving a single one-way road westbound.
Barriers have already been installed along the central reservation of the Kingsway to encourage pedestrians to use the designated crossing points.
