The Chief executive of Flintshire-based food company Iceland is among 100 business leaders to sign an open letter, backing the Conservative's economic policies.

Malcolm Walker, who featured in the Sunday Times' 'Rich List' last year, was joined by other businessmen and women, including Duncan Bannatyne and Baroness Karen Brady.

The letter, published in the Daily Telegraph warns any 'change in course' would threaten jobs and put the recovery at risk.

Alexandra Lodge reports from St Asaph in north Wales.

Reacting to the letter in The Telegraph the Welsh Liberal Democrats said the Conservatives were "refusing to get the wealthiest in society to pay their fair share."

While Plaid Cymru said it was on the side of businesses and workers and pledged to "cut rates for 83,000 businesses in Wales, taking 70,000 out of the business rates system altogether."

The Labour Party has dismissed the letter from business leaders "as a call for lower corporation tax".
