In the build up to May's General Election, ITV News has been running the 'School Debate' project, to encourage more young people to get engaged with politics.

Here are some photographs of schools' political events:
Whitchurch High School in Cardiff invited local candidates in for interviews with Sixth Form pupils.

Porthcawl Comprehensive School invited First Minister, and local Assembly Member, Carwyn Jones in for a 'lively' question and answer session with Sixth Form students.
They challenged him on topics such as NHS funding, the housing shortage, and educational issues like the Welsh Baccalaureate.

Ysgol Gyfun Gwynllyw in Pontypool has hosted question and answer sessions for students in Years 11-13, and candidates or representatives from five parties, in the run up to the general election.

Welshpool High School held a question and answer session with two candidates for the Montgomeryshire seat.

Coedcae Comprehensive School in Llanelli held two debates for students and local politicians.
Politicians answering questions included: Llanelli AM Keith Davies, Conservative parliamentary candidate for Llanelli Selaine Saxby, Labour Llanelli MP Nia Griffith, Plaid Cymru Mid and West Wales AM Simon Thomas, and Plaid Cymru parliamentary candidate for Llanelli Vaughan Williams.
On Thursday, we will be following some of Coedcae Comprehensive School's pupils as they get into the roles of candidates, and hold their own mock election.
