Illinois man recreates Rhuddlan Castle from £10,000 worth of Lego
A Lego-loving pensioner from America has built his very own version of Rhuddlan Castle.
71-year-old retired doctor Bob Carney, from Illinois, has spent nearly £10,000, used over 50,000 pieces of Lego and taken six weeks to create his masterpiece.
Rhuddlan Castle is just one of 18 Welsh castles he has built, with the first one made in 1987.
His Welsh collection also includes Conwy, Carreg Cennen, Weobley and Caerphilly.
Despite recreating each model down to the very last detail, Mr Carney has never even visited Wales.
Now Cadw is releasing a video of Bob building his castle as part of a new campaign to encourage people to visit Wales.
The environment service is asking families to have a go at making their favourite castle out of any material they like.
Mr Carney will judge the entries and give out prizes to the winners when he visits Wales in May.
