Man killed in Bath tragedy was planning retirement
A man who died in the Bath truck tragedy had been planning his retirement.
59-year-old Bob Parker was killed when an an out-of-control tipper truck hit the car he was travelling in on Monday.
Bob, who worked as a manager at a power company had been planning retirement dreams, and wanted to scale back on his work commitments.
He'd lived in Cwmbran his entire life and had plans to see the world with his wife.
Bob had been in Bath on a business trip with his colleague Phil Allen when he was killed.
They were both travelling in a car driven by newly-wed Stephen Vaughan when they were hit by the truck.
Western Power Distribution paid tribute to both bob and Phill who were among their "most senior of managers".
A spokesman for the energy giant said: "Both were very well respected by friends and staff alike and we are all deeply shocked by this tragic event.
"Our thoughts are with their wives and families at this very sad time."
A four-year-old girl from Bath, Mitzi Rosanna Steady, also died.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
