Rare 1962 film shows the last train from Newport to Brecon

In 1962 TWW broadcaster Gordon Tucker traveled on the last passenger train from Newport to Brecon.

The mute film includes rare footage of the long lost village of Pantywaun.

The footage has been uploaded by archivists at the National Library of Wales

The train leaves Newport

The entire collection - comprising of film, tape and other formats - is now housed at the National Library of Wales in Aberystwyth.
